MEET LORYN

Loryn Smith has 35 years of experience in the child welfare system, working both professionally and personally to impact the lives of children in our area. Loryn is the mother of 20 children, 12 of whom were adopted through the child welfare system. Over the last 32 years, Loryn and her husband Thad have fostered over 100 children.

Loryn’s professional experience includes working as a marriage and family counselor, as a Director in both public and private foster care/adoption agencies, and lead trainer for an adoption support center. Loryn has been certified through Rutgers University and NACAC as an Adoption Competent Trainer, and she has completed training in the Trust Based Relational Intervention Method. 

Loryn is a sought after speaker, bringing practical application of parenting skills for children impacted by abuse and neglect. She also provides Family Coaching Services, working directly with families to assist them in developing effective parenting strategies for challenging children.
